The Three years’ storm that came, but failed to destroy the vision and legacy of Chrysolyte in the hearts of the community, the students past and present, Mrs Rally Ikiebe as Matron, Pastor Joseph Ikiebe as Sir, Miss Nike Ameen and Mrs Baruwa.
The CPS after their investigations dropped the whole allegation of child abuse against the management. The authorities ( DFE and local authority ) were not pleased regarding the result, so suddenly it became the epic story of David ( Chrysolyte) against Big Goliath ( The Education Authority, Ofsted and local authority and other agencies) their belief was that this was an African school with Christian ethos that beat demons out of children as expressed by one of their officers. So by all means seeking to close Chrysolyte but the Series of Tribunal hearings prevented the DfE, pending the crown court case of Mrs Rally Ikiebe.
Mrs Ralliat Ikiebe’s vindication
At the crown court, the all-white jury that heard the case; regarding one child’s allegation via her mother claiming her child was injured at the school by the matron. There was high public interest at the hearing due to the (presence or involvement) of the DfE; the BBC and other media outlets were on stand by.
The collusion and fabrications between child A and mother A were exposed. Hence the judge advised the members of the jury that their verdict must be unanimous and he would seek an acquittal for Mrs Rally Ikiebe if her evidence is true.
Again, THIS WAS another big blow to the government, local authority, hence the BBC incompetently published the incorrect gender of the acquitted defendant, the article should have stated the acquittal of Mrs Rally Ikiebe. The daily mail and various other agencies chose to present child A’s account alone, without publishing supporting evidence of the defense, Mrs Ikiebe’s accounts and the courts verdict.
THE GOLIATH REGROUPED
The department of education ( Goliath) renewed their pressure by appointing an Ofsted inspector, who stated to a member Chrysolyte staff that the government only send him to schools they intend to close by all means. Certainly, after his inspection, a damaging report was given after a senior officer suggested to him to make sure that he scrutinizes every aspect of the school organisation and produce something. In the history of Chrysolyte, we had never obtained such a damaging report.
At the same time the government referred the whole school management to barring agency. The barring agency assessed the evidence and decided to ascertain the credibility of the case of child A, her mother and other children and allegations surrounding the use of African bamboo sticks, rulers with spikes, child abuse and professional conduct.
The Civil Hearing
The three panel judges concluded on credibility and truthfulness of witnesses and the evidences that was given. They found Mrs Rally Ikiebe statements and evidence credible and consistent. The panel concluded that the statements of the child A and her mother were inconsistent and incredible. They discovered that child A’s mother has changed her statement with police twice and at the crown court hearing. The panelist proved that Mrs Rally Ikiebe was not guilty of CHILD ABUSE.
The evidence of other students was tested by the panelist and concluded that Mrs Rally Ikiebe’s statement was consistent and credible because the evidence proved that some of the parents were owing the school a total of £68,000. The panelist concluded that the children’s evidences were inconsistent. It proved that there was no CHILD ABUSE CULTURE HAPPENING AT CHRYSOLYTE SCHOOL.
The panelist indicted an Ofsted officer who claimed that Mrs Ikiebe jumped bail condition which was one of the strong evidence to suspend the school. The panelist said they were very concerned why this Ofsted official should make such a statement because Mrs Rally Ikiebe produced a document of her variation from the Camberwell Magistrate Court.
At the end, the root of child abuse in the whole allegation was rigorously contested both at the highest court in UK and at civil court, it was proved to be lies and deliberate act of malicious wickedness by those parents.
The Ikiebe Family, Management, Trustees, Staff, RCMC Team and all Chrysolyte Friends and our Parents with a vision say “A Big Thank You” for your support over the three years. And we are still standing, and “The Flame of Chrysolyte” is still burning.
It is not a tragedy but a strategy for kingdom advancement.
